Become a Mentor to a Foster Teen. You can become a significant asset-builder in the life of a teen in foster care. The next training session for FCF's Tommorow Matters® Mentoring Program is Thursday, February 2, at 6:30 PM. We'll gather in Epiphany's fellowship hall. This session is open to the community - please spread the word to friends, neighbors, and co-workers!
Tomorrow Matters® is a dynamic, interactive program that empowers youth to reach their potential as they transition into adulthood. The program equips foster and at-risk teens with the tools, life skills, training, resources, and adult connections needed to become successful. The mentoring program focuses on foster youth that are between the ages of 14 and 21 years old. The immediate focus is on teens as they begin to "age out" of the foster care system. These youth are at a critical point in their lives when it is imperative that they have the life skills needed to prepare for adulthood. Many of the youth in foster care have relocated frequently and have not formed the asset-building bonds with adults or learned life skills essential for transitioning into adulthood.
Interested? Click here to register for the session on February 2. The first 30 minutes will be an orientation that will provide you with an overview of the mentoring program so you can decide if you want to commit to becoming a mentor.
You may contact Pastor Devin if you need further information prior to the session.
