Imagine logoWorship Arts Workshops
Wednesdays at 5 PM

Join us on Wednesdays when we gather to prepare creative arts for Sunday morning worship. IMAGINE is a time for all to develop and rehearse their creative gifts. This family time is intended for all ages -- an intergenerational time of creativity and fellowship. Five worship arts centers are offered: Drama, Arts, Voice, Instruments, and Dance.

During the hourlong workshops, teams work on worship arts with a six-to-eight week focus: September/October, November/December, January/February, and March/April. Center leaders will help coordinate weekly activities, with much input from participants.

Our imagine time is part of Epiphany's Wednesday Grace gathering. The arts workshops are followed by the community meal at 6 p.m. -- a midweek gethering of food and fellowship for our whole community.  Wednesday Grace Worship follows the meal at 7, offering a midweek time to pause, reflect, and worship.  At 7:30, Epiphany's adult choirs and Wednesday Grace Bible Study meet.

Be sure to make Epiphany part of your midweek plans!

The Epiphany Choir is a lively and spirited chorus of musicians committed to ministry through vocal music of all musical styles ranging from classical works to formal anthems, to spirited contemporary gospel music and Southern spirituals. The choir sings week to week in our worship services, providing musical strength for the congregation in hymns and liturgy. In addition, the choir presents extended musical works on festival days and in special seasons throughout the year. The choir will occasionally sing at the Wednesday evening services during the seasons of Advent and Lent. Rehearsals are every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Membership in the choir is open to anyone high-school age and older; Steve Belfield director.

The Men's Chorus, which is also known as the "Epiph-tones," specializes in three- and four-part music for male voices. Like the Epiphany Choir, musical styles range from traditional hymn and anthem arrangements to lively Southern spirituals. Audiences and congregations are never disappointed when they hear this electrifying group! Outside of Epiphany, the Men's Chorus has sung for a variety of benefit events and will be singing the national anthem at an Atlanta Hawks game in early 2011. The Men's Chorus is directed by Steve Belfield. Membership is open to men of high-school age and older.

The Ladies Chorus sings several times a year -- all ladies are welcome. We rehearse as needed on Wednesdays following regular choir rehearsals. Terri Schroader directs the group

Instrumental Music is alive and well at Epiphany! Epiphany possesses a wealth of talent in the areas of percussion, wind, brass and string players of all ages. Players of wind and brass instruments, percussion, guitar and bass guitar are all welcome. A variety of instrumentalists accompany the music in worship on a regular basis. Please contact Terri Schroader if you're interested in being a part of the instrumental ensemble. Instrumentalists rehearse Tuesday evenings at 7.

Epiphany Bell Chorus comprises everything from our children's chimes to traditional handbells. The bells enhance worship with praise ringing sound. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 5, during our imagine time. Directed by Terri Schroader and Suzanne Bergs.

Drama brings words to life. Actors are encouraged to experience the Gospel lessons and to bring those experiences to the congregation during worship. There a a number of opportunities to become engaged with drama, including two major productions each year. Drama is led by Patty Etherton, Bernie Davis, Chris Bergman, and Terri Schroader.

Liturgical Dance offers praise and beauty in worship. Look for more opportunities for liturgical dance teams coming up. Dancers are under the leadership of Bernie Davis.
