The Way We "Never" Were
Retreat Weekend, March 16 - 18, 2012
The Ridges Resort, Hiawassee
You and your spouse are invited for a fun and meaningful weekend get-away. Epiphany's marriage retreat is a great opportunity to invest in yourself, your spouse, and your relationship -- whether you're newly married or celebrating your silver anniversary. Perhaps you know a couple who would like to come along -- please invite your friends; this is not an opportunity limited to Epiphany people.
The Way We "Never" Were will focus on the challenge of being married in the 21st Century. Over the time we're together, we'll address the questions 1) What does being married mean today? 2) How do I be a wife/husband in a world that is drastically changing what it means to be a woman/man? 3) What is this thing called "emotional intelligence" and how do we talk about feelings? 4) What is an "intentional" marriage, why is it important to have one, and how do we get it?
The weekend's facilitator is Sam Sligar. Sam is a pastoral counselor and licensed marriage and family therapist, in practice for nearly 35 years. He is the founder and executive director of Crossings Counseling Center in Atlanta and has had a close relationship with Atlanta's Lutheran community since the mid-1980s. Pastor Devin is serving as the event's chaplain. The weekend will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, March 16, and conclude with Sunday morning worship with Holy Communion and a renewal of wedding vows.
This weekend retreat is intended to explore some serious questions in a fun way. You'll return home with the experience and knowledge that optimistically engages the challenges of being married in 2012. You'll be uplifted and excited about your future together!
The cost for this investment in your relationship is $495 per couple, all inclusive of two night's lodging, meals and other retreat amenities at The Ridges.
