We believe that church membership matters. Membership is your intentional promise. It unites you in a clear way with God’s vision and mission for Epiphany and our growing community of people. 

In our consumer-driven culture, we know that persons may want to be affiliated with a congregation for any number of reasons. We believe that it is important to remember that, as the baptized children of God, we do not go to church. We are the church.

Epiphany is Lutheran. At the same time, we resist an institutional model of being church. The three-week journey of Discovering the Church Again for the First Time is necessary to becoming a member, so you can enter into membership with your eyes open and, it is hoped, with an inspired heart.

 Persons who complete the series and desire to join Epiphany are received into membership on a subsequent Sunday during worship. All new members then gather at the home of Pastor Rick and Harriet Barger for community building and missional conversation. 

To assist them with getting to know Epiphany, new members are assigned shepherding families. These "shepherds" serve as guides for new members in their entry into Epiphany. 

Discover the Church Again
Next Session Begins February 5th

Want to learn more about Epiphany? Are you considering becoming a part of God’s Epiphany family? From those "just curious" to those ready for a deep commitment, all are invited to participate in the series, Discovering the Church Again for the First Time. Presented in three Sunday morning sessions, the series immerses you in an authentic vision of the church. It is not a process of indoctrination. It is not an adult confirmation class. 

Discovering the Church Again places the life and mission of the church in today’s context and clarifies how Epiphany draws upon the infant church to shape how we are in mission together. Our next session is set to begin February 5th and will meet for three Sundays at 9:45 a.m. -- February 5, 12 and 26.  Members would be received on March 4.
