How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk will provide invaluable resources for parents, grandparents, teachers or anyone who cares about the youth of today; $25 per family to cover materials.
WEEKDAY COURSES
Tuesday Morning Bible Study – 10 a.m. Weekly
A verse-by-verse Bible study focusing on in depth exploration of individual books of the Bible. Class discussion centers on understanding the cultural history of Bible times, the ways in which events in the lives of God’s people shaped the writing of particular scripture, helping participants make connections throughout the scriptural witness that help them apply Biblical faith to their lives. The class meets in the Resource Room downstairs. Terry Sisk is the instructor. No previous experience or registration is required. The course is free of charge and all are welcome.
Kerygma-By-The-Book – Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m. Weekly
Kerygma is a Greek word meaning “The Message”. This self-study-with-class-discussion-style Bible study provides a comprehensive introduction to the scriptures, introducing prominent themes while presenting an introduction to each book of the Bible. Designed to give participants a laymen’s mastery of the Bible, Kerygma is user-friendly, informative and effective in helping participants grow in faith. The class meets in the Conference Room Upstairs. Frank Waugh is the instructor. No previous experience or registration is required. Course materials cost $45. All are welcome.
Godly Play . . .for Adults!
Have you been reading about Godly Play and looking at the materials in the Narthex and thought, “Wow! That looks like fun…I wish I could have learned about the Bible and church traditions like that!” Well, Adults, you will get your chance, too! Beginning on Wednesday nights in September we will have “Godly Play for Adults.” This class is for anyone 18 years and older who want to have the chance to experience God in a whole new way. Come and Play!!!
